what have you gotten done on your blazer today?

Getting the truck back today, was the EGR valve.
Going to get a battery for it too... they are trying to tell me that there are "too many connections" at the battery that is preventing it from gaining a good connection, which is why it wont take a charge..... which is bull...

Well I get to start pulling my engine out tonight after work. Hopefully it isnt too bad. Last weekend I built a new front bumper for it and started a build thread.
Any tips or pointers?

Today I did a little mercy work on my destitute friend's '93 Jimmy (W) . His truck was having issues with massive fuel consumption. I did a pressure and leakdown test and it wouldn't even hold pressure for two seconds. I pulled the top off the manifold and didn't find any of the usual signs of leakage like washing down the carbon build-up. The leak seemed to be coming from one of the injector nozzles in the intake runner. I grabbed a spare set of injectors and threw them in the truck only to find that the fuel pressure regulator was leaking. I quit for the day after that. I'll swap regulators next and see if that clears up the fuel pressure loss.

I'm sure you know as well, if you are doing the injectors. might as well do the nut kit as well.... I am speaking from mistake... in the last 2 weeks, did a pressure test. Shot up to 62psi.. dropped down to 0 in about a minute, so, I automatically thought pump, since I feel like the intake would be a pool with it leaking down that quick.. did the pump, same thing, then did the injectors.... same thing............ finally did the nut kit and it solved the problem (but I had washing on both sides so the nut kit and injectors had to be replaced anyways.
Today... I brushed the truck off... I do not miss this snow crap. So nice to say i brushed the truck off though. ITS ALIVE!
side note, these brake lights, headlights and reverse lights are simply amazing... even more so in the snow. love um.

One headlight assembly baked and disassembled.
GM decided to use permaseal on these headlights and I expected it to be a bear to disassemble. It went a LOT easier than what many people reported on hidplanet. It is going to be time consuming to remove all of the permaseal from the back piece, but the lens is clean with no adhered glue.
I will be welding up a fixture to put the headlight bucket on, level up, and mark the halogen beam pattern on my garage door. I will then install the projector and match the pattern, leveling rotation. I am hoping to be able to use the stock up/down adjuster when it is all said and done.
Still waiting on my order from TRS...

Put in a new alternator and tensioner pulley after this excellent experience this morning. RPMs were going insane and kicking like a ****, alternator was creating extra current with increased throttle. I'm guessing this is some sort of loop-hole failsafe where the alt shuts it self off but the motor keeps running sort of sick twisted engineering plot by Special Dave at GM Engineering.
Shoutout to Ohio DOT Field Service Techs who helped me diagnose the problem.
Super easy job, except the back plate you bolt the alt to was slightly shorter, but a wrench to the bottom of the problem bracket brings it up slightly enough to get it in straight.
No squeals, no psycho jerking, and most importantly MO' POWAH!!!!! Even fixed my stop&go hesitation... for now.
Anyway, photopoon because blazerforum
