what an unfortunate weekend

yesterday sunday the 27th i got back from scout summer camp
my parents were going to get something to eat after my sister left for puducah
i was too tired after walking 12 miles a day for a whole week so i stayed home
thank god i did
my parents went in the blazer and about 5 miles away they were in a wreck that totaled it
it was a 4 lane highway at a 4 way intersection
they were going north, and the guy was turning to go south from the right side
he ran a red light because he was playing with his phone
fortunatley my uncle and aunt were coming back from their parents house which is on the other side of the highway across from the van
they saw everything, also my aunts sisters boss saw the whole thing from their kitchen
and a close family friend was not far behind them
they were taken to the nearest hospital
my dad was cut on top of his head from a piece of plastic that was lodged in it from the overhead console
he got 9 stitches
my mom had a huge gash about 4-5 inches wide and about an inch deep
they had to do surgery to put everything in the right place
she got 7 staples in her knee and is now home
both air bags deployed and thats what saved my dad because he doesnt wear his seatbelt
the car is totaled according to my uncle who works on front ends
apparently the dash is what cut my moms leg
they stayed two days in the hospital while i went home with my aunt and uncle
im just thanking god that it wasnt worse

:icon_cry: I'm very sorry to hear about the wreck and your parents' injuries, but thank God they came through it without life threatening conditions. It's good that the air bags worked like they should have.

Who cares about the Blaze as long as everyone is/will be okay!!

okvortec 06-29-2009 01:03 AM

Thank God everyone is ok! x2 on the Blazer.

kiwiblazer 06-29-2009 02:23 AM

Sorry to hear that man. That sucks.
Glad they're not too badly cut up & I wish them a speedy recovery.

PVT Pablo 06-29-2009 02:44 AM

Its good they made it though ok. Best wishes on a fast recovery.

I wonder what blazer heaven looks like.... hmm.

That really stinks the whole way around! I'm glad the family is mostly O.K! You can get another Blazer - I've even seen a few ZR2s on ebay lately.

Were you at Boxwell Reservation for camp?

oktain 06-29-2009 07:28 AM

I'm glad to hear your family's alright. A Blazer can be replaced, but lives can't.

I firmly believe that the fact the Blazer had a full frame helped out. That's one of the reasons I sold my Cavalier and bought the Blazer, having a full frame to help with the impact just gave me a warmer feeling around town with all the stupid drivers around here.

yea im not worried about the blaze at all

my dads been running around dealing with insurance
my moms been tired because of the pain meds

it is next door to berhein forest
ive been looking for a silverado here lately
and my moms getting a new trailblazer
