where can i get replacement Distributor Cap screws?
 

i lost one of the hardware screws for the Distributor Cap, i believe its a torq screw(star shaped) either t-15 or t-20 (can someone confirm?) anyway where can i get a replacement screw or can i match it at hardware store?
no auto parts stores sell it by itself...and i dont feel like purchasing a new cap for $25-35 just for the screw considering the one i have is less than a year old.

most rotor buttons come with replacement screws for it and the distributor cap and it's a lot cheaper than buying the cap

Hi, I got the cap and rotor off my 1995 Blazer. It was a royal PIA, can't belive they come up with this design. I've got new ACDelco parts on order and should get them by end of week.

I looked at a few YouTube and it's obvious that the intake is better suited on later years. On this 95, there is no way to get any common torx driver/adapter. Part of the intake covers the engine side cap screw and 1/4" extension can't clear.

I'm thinking if I replace the screw(s) with a Phillips head I'll be able to slip a skinny screwdriver or bend one to fit. Alternatively a more common hex/Allen might also work. Anyone else tried this on a 95? I don't think I'll be able to reinstall the T20's the way I got them out.

I missed the days when caps were held with spring loaded hooks and a 1/4 turn with a flat head was all it took. :-(

I had a 95. You can get drivers with flexible shafts that look like a wound spring. They work well for stuff like this.

Thanks for the suggestion. I didn't think that would fit either. I'll pick one up and try it. Still hate torx screws!

I have a 95 Blazer and to get the torx out front closest to fire wall I use a 1/4 inch torx head with the 2inch extension and ratchet. It's easier to leave the ratchet off then u get some room to get to the torx head.

Cheap set of wobble extensions works wonders.
