RE: 4wheel drive

If your's has 4 buttons (1 says "auto") it has an electrically controlled solenoid mounted on the top center of the firewall above the distributor...that controls the front axle engaugement (routes engine vacuum to the front axle actuator under the battery tray). Does the 4Hi button continuously blink when you press it? If so then your front axle is not engauging....and your t-case is funtioning properly. First check the vacuum hoses to and from the solenoid....if o.k. check the cable from the actuator (again under the battery tray) to the front axle....I have seen MANY cases where the positive battery post leaks battery acid onto the cable and siezes it up....look straight down from the battery positive bolt if you recently changed a leaking battery.
