93 s10 blazer stalling while idle

Well my blazer has just recently started stalling while idle. Then it's a little hard to start back up again but will start. We checked most of the wiring and looked fine from what we could see. I've read through some of the threads and seen that people think it could be the EGR system and I'm not really sure what it stands for/is. Anyone know what could be a possible problem?

Thanks.

From what you described it sounds like a clogged fuel filter or fuel pump on the fritz

..or maybe even an IAC valve...

A clogged fuel filter or fuel pump acting up would become more apparent the more fuel required (ie. higher loads and rpm), not at idle.

Sounds like either an EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve problem or an IAC (idle air control) valve problem. However, I need to know what you have for an intake/fuel-injection setup on your truck. Is it a throttle body injection with a normal looking intake with what looks like a carb on top and a round air cleaner topping it all off? Or is it the CPI (central port injection) intake which is rather large and has a single blade throttle body pointing at the radiator.

I'm not sure what kind of fuel injection system I have. All I really know is that is says Vortec on the engine if that helps any..

If it says vortec, then you have CPI. I would try to remove and disassemble the throttle body, cleaning everything on it very well with some throttlebody cleaner, including the IAC valve. I'll try to see if I can't find you an illustration of the TB and it's associated sensors/parts so you know what you are looking for. Won't be able to get to it until after work however cause all of my stuff is at home.
