by friends 94 had that trouble and we replaced a speed sensor on one of the rear wheels and it went away.

what were the circumstances of the sensor going out? were you able to tell? My wife and I just got back from a trip in her '94 S-10 Blazer Tahoe LT, and after stopping to get gas at one of those highway stops, the ABS light came on, but the brakes worked fine, except for a tiny squeak from the brakes when stopping fully.
could this be the sensor too?
the light came onright when the vehicle started and didnt shut off the whole way home.

Check the ohmatic value of both wheel bearing wires. I don't know their supposed values. It help to find if one has a wildly different value than the other.

quite possibly sniper. I know reading my haynes book on the blazer there are error codes for the abs system. The one we pulled told us it was an error with a speed sensor, pulled it and replaced it..voila.

Went bad or got covered in dirt/grease?

Just my 2 cents worth. Like all computer controlled stuff on the vehicle, you can check for any error codes stored in the BPMV (brake pressure modulator valve) located on the inside left side of the fender. This valve does a self diagnostic everytime you turn on your vehicle. Jump your DLC plug inside, on my 94 you jump "A" pin (top right-ground) & the "H" pin, bottom row second pin from the left. I'm sure its different on newer models. But the ABS light will flash my codes. Someone might have a better idea with your model. Or you might need a scan tool. Good luck
