Adding overhead console

Im looking to add an overhead console to my 95. It currently doesnt have any overhead console. Does anybody know if the wiring harness for compass and temperature is already up there? Or how hard is it to add the sensors and wiring? Im pretty good with wiring in this kind of stuff, just wondering how much of a pain it would be.

RE: Adding overhead console

I did this to my 2005 Jimmy.
It is a bit of work, but it is handy to have the compass.
I bought the console on eBay for $50. Make sure it has the male connector with at least a few inches of wire connected.
The pain is finding a place to tap the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) and running the wiring up to the roof and out to the thermistor.
To answer your question. There is no wiring in place and it will take a good day of fiddling to get it installed.

RE: Adding overhead console

are there overhead consoles for the '90s blazers that calculate gas mileage? the one in my '97 only shows the temperature and direction.

edit:
what are the extra buttons on this overhead console for?
