Anti-Theft System Help!

I have a 1997 Blazer and a few days ago I went out to get in it and my battery was dead....so we took it and had it fully charged, tested, and all that and put it back in. Everything works except it won't start still.....it doesn't even crank. So now it's sitting at the garage and the mechanic is trying to figure out what's wrong with it...hooked it to the machine and it came back with nothing on that part.

Is it possible that when the battery was taken out, it did something to the anti-theft system and now it thinks the vehicle is being stolen and has shut down the start-up?

Has anyone had this type of problem before and if so how did u fix it?

there is no anti-theft system on that truck to my knowledge, (I have a 97 as well.) WHen mine wouldnt start, the battery didn't have a good connection. as the rubber around the battery cable was getting in the way.

Yes, there's an anti-theft on mine...I got the Blazer used from an independent dealer and he doesn't know much about the vehicle so there was no help from him....the mechanic told me this afternoon that he thinks that it's the anti-theft as well, except now he's trying to figure out whether he can disengage it or not [&:]

tru turing key to on and letting it sit for 20 min. make sure window is down and battery is fine, door has to be closed. This resets the security system

Is the security light flashing?
This is what I found for resetting the security system.
30 Minute Procedure
(1) Ensure that the battery is fully charged.
(2) Use a scan tool in order to clear the Passlockā„¢ DTCs.
(3) Turn the ignition switch from the OFF position to the (4) CRANK position, and then to the (5) RUN position. The vehicle will start and then stall.
Leave the ignition ON until the security telltale turns OFF in 10 minutes.
Repeat Steps 3-5 for 2 more times (3 times total)
The Passlockā„¢ controller will learn the new data on the next start attempt.
Use a scan tool in order to clear all DTCs.
