95 blazer 4.3
I am losing a lot of coolant and don't know where it is coming from. I understand that the 4.3 is noted for having a bad intake manifold that deterioates could this be the source?
Also every now and then the car starts to run rough and sort of
diesels - if I reset the computer it runs fine until the next time - any ideas?

You need to find out where the coolant is going, it has to be going somewhere. Check your oil and tranny dipsticks. Do you smell it? Check the floor under your passengers feet, is it wet. Do you have a white cloud following you where ever you go?

wet outside the vehicle? maybe head gasket. also check around the water pump and follow all the hoses for leaks or cracks.

I have a similar problem I just encourtered.
My leak is easily noted to be coming from where the engine to radiator outflow hose starts. I, unfortunately, know little about engines. It appears to be a seal in that area. When the truck starts, the coolant drips like a sieve out of that area.
Any ideas?
