CV Shafts

Would you recommend Changing out cv shafts. or just redoing the boots. The one has been leaking for 1 yr maybe 2 yrs. The other one just started this spring. and the boot came clean off the drivers side. The last trip out. Which would be wiser or easier or should I check my knuckles out and see if they look ok?

I would straight up replace them. With the availability of parts, it just doesn't make sense not to if you can do the work yourself. Properly replacing the boot requires the removal and disassembly of the CV shaft anyhow.

Expect to pay around $120 for new and $80 for reman CV shafts.

In case you don't want to do it yourself, I had a remanufactured one installed at a Midas shop for about $200 parts and labor a year ago, which was at least $50 less than other places I called or heard about. I didn't have them do the other one because, although it had a small tear at one end of one boot, it didn't seem to be leaking. I should probably look at it again, though.

Definitely take Kyle's advice on this, get you some reman complete axle shafts and be done with it.
