I need help I changed the thermostat and radiator cap. It is still overheating there seems to be no leaks the fan kicks on. It stopped blowing out hot air now, the hose to the radiator seems to be fine. I need help its making me mad.

Got enough coolant?

Heater core have sludge?

Get a flush done.

In situations like this I like to remove the thermostat.

Just remove the thermostat and put it back together.... fill the radiator back up ....then start the truck and observe.
You should see coolant flowing like mad inside the radiator. If the level drops, keep filling it up.
You could just have a really large pocket of air, and this will get rid of that.

If it is flowing well, and you get if full of water ....take it for a drive and see if it overheats.

If it blows a bunch of coolant into the overflow tank and starts to overflow...you probably have lost the intake mani gasket or a head gasket???

disconnect the heater core hoses and spray in there. remove the upp/lower hoses and hose the radiator, Where the t stat sits....BTW is the water pump working?

how can I check to see if the water pump is working? I checked the hanes book and the pictures dont exactly match Ive been doing most of my own work this way and any help is appreciated.

I just told you how!

remove the thermostat ....put it all back together and fill it up with water ....start the truck.

If you see coolant/water flowing inside your radiator ....your pump is pumping and you probably don't have any major blockage.

If it is not flowing, or it is not flowing well ....then you know where to start.

I read It Im just stupid you guys are gods...jeez...feel betta now, now back to the subject I did what u said and I think its leaking under the upper radiator hose and some metal tubeing under it. I THINK its a cracked radiator what says U GODS...:)
