Front wheel hub or bearing change?

Hi

I need to replace front wheel bearing. As I know in American cars it is only possible to change all hub not only bearing. But one told me that it should be possible to change only bearing (suggest was to use Timken bearing) which should be much cheaper than changing all hub. Have you ever tried to change bearing only instead all hub?

On the 4wd, it is an integrated hub/bearing. You need to remove the wheel & brake components, then remove the 3 bolts holding the hub to the steering knuckle and remove the axle nut. Press the axle out of the hub and pull the hub from the steering knuckle. Reassemble reverse of removal. If you need the torque specs, please let me know.

Thanks for information but it is not too good news. Wheel hub in Poland costs 300USD :( Could send me torque specs? I hope to find it in Haynes manual but it should arrive next week or later.

Too bad you couldn't find a way to ship one from the US....I've been checking them out for my Blazer also, and they run around 150USD here. Wonder if you could get them shipped from any company? Not sure how long that would take, though. It'd be like a 2-for-1 sale!

i imagine the price to ship would be considerable. not only is the item not light, but you're shipping internationally.

Yes, I know that (I used to work for Airborne Express), but I can't imagine that it would be $300. Maybe I'm wrong, with the price of fuel!! Figured it might be worth a shot if he doesn't need them ASAP.
