Gas Mileage/Sending Unit & Buzzing
 
alright well i have a 1997 Blazer 2X2 and um my gas mileage sucks.. right now i get 16 miles to a gal.. thats pretty bad so i was woundering what i can get to get that up higher.. also i have this rattle (almost like a buzzing noise) coming from under the hood around about the engine.. idk my best guess would be a bad bearing or somethin but its annoying as hell.. also it happens only ever so often but its somethin i think i need to fix.. also if any1 knows how to fix a sending unit and mayb get one cheap i would love to no caz it sucks to do the math when havin to fill ur tank... thanks and hope to hear some great news

um...rattling!? you better get your timing chain looked at there.... how many miles on it? has it ever been done? it could also be causing your bad gas mileage. of course there are the basics, when was the last tune up, clogged fuel injectors, egr clean and working right? oil changes regular? anything leakins?

Hmm... I'm getting 16-17mpg and I think that is perfectly fine for the driving that I do (hills and such).

And yeah, a tune up wouldn't hurt a thing.

Hey everyone, first post here.

I have a 2001 Blazer LS 4x4 that I've had for almost two years now. Moving up in the world from a Grand Am GT to the Blazer I knew my mileage would suck. I added a Flowmaster Muffler (not exhaust) a few months after I got the truck, just a few months ago I added a K&N FIPK and have noticed that my mileage is up around 19.5 mpg for city driving.
