Help !Power System Problems!

Need help guys !

On a long road trip from Vancouver...Grand Canyon and Lax to Vancouver via the 101...Had the idiot batt light come on in LAX , Pepboys threw in a rebuilt alternator and life was great.
As I drove out of LAX, the light came on again 25 miles loutside San Jose. Drove to a Pepboys store they found nothing wrong and the truck worked just fine..the freerakin' light went off and I rode into Sanfran.
2 days later, 35 miles outside Santa Rosa, it comes on once again and this time I can see the gauge going from 14 down to 9. Took a turn off the freeway and just lost all power!

Luckily I found a guy with a towing rig who kindly charged up my battery..got it up to 14v.

One of the funny things I noticed was that the light would turn off if I drove at 3000revs..stuck it into D3 and got into my hotel..

Will be taking it into Pepboys tomorrow..any thoughts?

BTW I replaced the battery last year...it's about 9 months old.

thanks !

Sounds like a bad alternater. Get the battery load tested anyway, just as a precaution.

Sounds like a fun trip, I've done it on a bike, but not the Blazer.
