Leaky Radiator

I noticed a nice little pool of antifreeze dripping out from under the front end of my Blazer yesterday while I was getting gas.

Then today I take off work a little early, and use the extra time to check and see if I could find any leaks.

Sure enough, it's got a pretty good leak on the driver side.

It's in one of them places where someone may be able to fix, but maybe not at the same time.

I figure it'll probably be best if I just go ahead and change it out, and save myself the trouble of it leaking again in the future.

Was just wondering if there is any brand in particular to get, or stay away from. I looked at the ones on the partsamerica.com website, and it looked as though it was gonna run me about $210 to get one, I'd probably just order it from Advance Auto Parts here locally and contribute to their business some. That is, unless the radiators from Advance are total crap.

Not a problem. I've been swearing by them for years...just REMEMBER to keep the receipt for the warranty. they will do NOTHING without it, but i've not needed to use it anyway.

Welp, I was calling around, and Advance had one in stock, and while it was a little pricey I went ahead and picked it up on Thursday evening. Friday afternoon work was a little slow so I took off early and got to work on it.

I wound up getting a dual core radiator from advance, dunno if it will make much difference, but it definitely looked better than the single core rad that I took out.

I don't know how it would be with an automatic transmission model, but I can say that for a manual transmission model it's a very quick easy do it yourself type of job. Wasn't really anything about the job that I would call difficult.

It's nice not smelling antifreeze and seeing a small pool of Blazer blood everytime I stop now too.
