New guy, having issues w/ charging sys

Well, here is my second post. Been having the issue with the fluctuating voltmeter. You know, 14 volts, down to 12, 9, back to 14. Had alternator tested, battery is about 4 months old, changed the multifunction switch, now I'm looking at the battery cables. Anybody know where to find a cheaper cable than NAPA (89.99), or if anyone has ever built one. Not sure how important the fusible link is. If it's not that important, then I could build one pretty easy. I found one at Rockauto for $53 plus shipping, but I'm sure I'd have to wait about 10 days. Any help is appreciated.

well, first things first, Welcome to the BF.

any problems that you're having and want help with should be put into the correct area like the General Tech Help section. And if you're talking about the battery cables as in the positive to alt, negative to frame, and engine to frame, you know you can make them yourself.

A lot of people do this and its the big 3 upgrade so that the electrical system can handle upgraded lights along with big systems.... search before posting is my only hint at your questions being answered.

And i'm not trying to be a jerk about it, i have only been here 4 months and it bugs me when people post things in the wrong areas
