Please help!!door chime and overhead lights won't go off.
 

My Wife just purchased a 97 blazer, and now the warning chime, overhead lights, and head lights won't turn off.
The noise is enough to make someone crazy. does anybody know what the problem my be.

Welcome to the forum.
Is this problem all the time, even with the truck shut off and key removed?
It sounds like a faulty or shorted headlight switch.
Are you mechanically inclined and do you have tools?

I think I would remove the left lower trim panels, then the instrument trim panel and disconnect the power to the headlight switch to check and see if that turns off the lights and warning chime.
That's where I'd start, but maybe someone else has had the same problem and knows for sure.

Ok,
She purchased the thing yesterday and while having it detailed at the local car wash they broke off her rearview mirror. Not a big deal they are going to replace it on monday. In the mean time I took apart the tailgate to fix it from being stuck. I was able to get instructions online. Before going to bed I decided to unplug the rearview mirror so that it wasn't just hanging there. When I went to work this morning the warning bell and dome light were on all the way there. Everything stops when I take out the key, but as soon as the key is inserted the bell goes off again.

I need sleep, but before I go....
2 things to check....tailgate switch and if you find nothing there, plug in the rear view and see if that does it.
