Power Stat for 4.3L

Have read that a Power Stat is NOT recommended for the 4.3L engine. The stock stat open at 195* instead of the usual 180* (for me) engines I've in the past. Is it really not adviseable to run the Power Stat at 160* in a 4.3L and if so how about putting in a 180* down from the stock 195*? Presuming that the info I got is fact that the stock stat opens at the 195* mark. This would be in unison with a Hyper tech 30024.

RE: Power Stat for 4.3L

The thing is that the computer program is designed to work at 170* and above... so I think that a 180* might work. But I opted for the Stant SuperStat at the factory 195*. I had recently purchased a factory service DVD and looked up the information on the cooling system and this is where I found out that the system needs 170*+ to work properly, that is unless you pay to have the computer reprogramed for 160*....
