tranny fluid change
 
when you take the pan off does the valve body come down with it? i have never ventured to do any kinda of work on a tranny kinda scared... i just dont wanna mess up the valve body if it does come down...something tells me it doesnt though

Nope. The valve body is held with a bunch of bolts.
When you lower the trans pan...
Leave a couple of bolts in the pan at the front corners so you can loosen the last 2 slowly and lower one edge of the pan slowly, so you don't have to wear the tranny oil. Drain it slowly so you can control it.
Remove the pan, then the tranny filter and the seal that the filter fits into. ( might need a hook tool for that)
Install the new seal, put a little vasaline inside the seal (so the filter goes in easier) install the filter.
Clean the pan and the gasket ( if the gasket is rubber, it's re-usable) Put the pan back in place, torque the bolts.
Put in 3 litres of trans oil and start the engine. Check and add trans oil as it warms up, then put your shifter into each gear from "P" to "1" and back, re-check the fluid level.
Check for leaks, road test and re-check for leaks and fluid level.

I use brake parts cleaner for cleanup.
