Transmission HELP!!!!!

I have a 1996 s10 blazer 4.3 liter 4x4 auto trans, I have been told by a tranmission shop that my problem is electrical and only a dealership can fix it. I am hoping otherwise. Here is the problem... From a dead stop it does not have any speed at all it acts like I am giving it no throttle to pull out and it takes forever to get up to speed. However if I manually shift the gears from 1st through second, third and drive it pulls out fine. Once its up to 25mph or better the transmission acts and shifts fine????? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance!

RE: Transmission HELP!!!!!

Did the tranny shop hook up a scantool to tell you this or did you tell them symtpoms and they told you this. If they considered it electrical then if you paid them for the information they should have at least hooked it up to a ODBII diagnostic scantool to determine the DTC (trouble code).

If not then you could find a local AutoZone or other parts store that will scan the codes for free and find out what the code (if any) tells you. Most codes are generalized in nature but they will tell you what system on the truck to start looking at.

If you have a 4L60 transmission then it is possible that you have a problem with the TV cable adjustment, here is a link that tells you how to adjust it:

But yours might be the 4L60e (Electronically controlled) and the TV cable is an electronic component and if it is failing it will produce a DTC and be stored in computer memory...
Post back if you find the problem.
