2004 Blazer Headers
 

Hi everyone. I have been searching for sometime and can't find any information, so I decided to ask here. I have a 2004 Blazer. 4.3, 2 Door, 2wd. I want to buy some headers, but every listing I go to shows Headers only fitting a 2001 and under. What kind of headers can I get for my 04, and where should I go and look for? Thanks!

Only thing headers will do for you on an otherwise stock Vortec V6 is to turn on the SES light. Seriously, there is no benefit. Same with CAI systems. The bottleneck to increased performance on these vehicles is not the exhaust system or taking off catalytic converters or a non-restrictive air filter or cold air - it is the fuel injection system and the camshaft designed for low rpm operation. Bet your 2004 only turns about 2200 rpm at 70mph in OD with the TCC locked up. Of course people with headers and CAI systems may tell you differently, but I think they are just justifying their expenditures. My advice, buy something cosmetic for your 2004 Blazer. It's not going to be a hot rod. Don't chop it up to pretend that it is.

FWIW, nothing magical happened in 2001 to make headers not fit anymore.
