carb question
i have an 84 k5 with the 350. it came with an edelbrock quadrajet replacement carb, i hate it. it has an edelbrock manifold, will it cause problems if i throw a 600cfm holley for a 70 to 74 chevy on it.

the only issue I can see is that the carb wont bolt up correctly. your trying to mount a carb made for a truck that is 10 years older than what you have...
But, I could (and probably am) wrong. it will probably work without a hitch.. |
i have no doubt in my mind it will bolt up just fine. im wandering if it will mess with any emission ****

If you intend to go to a square bore carb from what was originally a spread bore, it won't bolt up correctly without an adapter plate. If you already have a square bore carb on it, then you won't have any problems with it bolting up.

i know it will bolt up, its a square bore carb going on a square bore manifold, that not my problem. i want to know if it will mess up any of the emission stuff.

Seems you lead us in the wrong direction then by stating that you had an Edelbrock Quadrajet replacement carb. Edelbrock made spread bore Q-jets as well as spread bore intake manifolds...
If it already has an aftermarket carb and intake manifold on it, then you shouldn't have anything to worry about. |
