i just resently took out my filter box and replaced it with an intake...i wanted to make a cold air intake but i could not find a way to snake a hose behind the front bumper.......so right now there is a cone filter on the end of the stock intake hose....is there any opening that i do not know about that would allow me to snake the hose behind the front bumper?

You could build a box around the cone filter and then duct air into the box from lower. This is always safer, albeit more time consuming, than putting your filter down lower.

Pretty sure the stock intake draws fresh air through the front clip. I believe in the first pic posted above you can see the factory opening. It is to the left (drivers side) of the grill, just above the bumper. Kind of an oval shaped hole in the front clip. On my '87 S10-Blazer the opening is up higher put in the same general location.

thanks. i was thinking of putting a scoop on to cover it up, but i kinda like the hole. all the old timers think its a race truck with a big motor sticking out the hood, but little do they know, its only a 2.2L.

where are you supposed to cut the box to get more airflow?
