Dynomax ST Exhaust Install
 

I am about to purchase the Dynomax ST muffler for my '04 and I was wondering a couple things.

1. On my Blazer the stock is... inlet - 2.5" OD and the outlet - 2" OD. Would it be best to purchase the O/C muffler with 2.25" openings just to keep it right at the average? Like would this be the best for easy install...slipping the pipes over one another?

2. Should I run my 2" tail pipe all the way out or expand out to a 2.5"?

You can run 2.5" all the way from the muffler to the tip. It will change the sound. If you were to reuse your tail pipe, get a 2.5 inlet/outlet muffler then get a 2.5" to 2" adapter. You will have more room at either the front or the back of the muffler as the stock muffler will likely be a lot longer than your replacement.

Should I run the 2.5" straight out then? Is that the way to go?

Is there going to be a difference in sound and/or performance?

I believe keeping the same size pipes throughout the whole line is better for performance. Slipping the pipes over each other sounds easier, but I'm not sure, and i don't think that would be good for performance. I say you should weld the pipes
