Most of the time if you don't have the room, the exhaust follows the same route as the stock (both pipes). Then you can either exit both on the same side or cross back over behind or directly in front of the rear axle.

My only question would be WHY? In my experience, dual exhaust on any 6 cylinder (without a crossover) sounds like garbage. Even with a crossover, it still sounds like dualing 3 cylinder motors... Not to mention that with the 2.8L, you really won't gain anything by going dual (other than a lighter wallet). You'd be much better off to open the exhaust up to 2.5-2.75" diameter piping and stick with one pipe.

Default RE: dual exhaust on 86 s10 blazer??

as far as trying to get more power out of the little 2.8 no that wasnt my intention, what im trying to do is figure out an easy way to replace my ypipe easily and cheap just to get the truck on the road, and i was tryin to figure all my options out to figure out which one to do.

anways, i found out that my pass. side header actually has a hole on the seam where the 3 pipes come into one, so instead seeing how i have a stock ypipe and matching stock headers mounted on that ypipe im gonna just yank out the edelbrocks and rotted ypipe, adn replace them with the stock piping and be done with the whole thing

and then come next year ill end up ripping out the 2.8 for something with more power, and do the exhaust right at that time.
