Default just straight pipe exhaust?

hey guys. ive been mostly keeping my attention on the offroad capabilities of my truck but i want more sound out of my exhaust. i was planning on just getting a straight stainless pipe and cutting out my muffler. i know it has 3 bolts that connect it to the pipe behind the cat. i was planning on getting an adapter to fit the inside of the 3 bolt. or just cut it off of where the muffler is. is this even possible? and if so, does this give me more power or would this just hurt my truck? i wanted to go the cheapest route and i figured that a straight pipe with some adapters would run me around 30 bucks or less.

any warnings or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

When piecing exhaust together, slip the pipe into the one behind it, that way the exhaust doesn't catch a lip and create backpressure. Anywho, straight pipe is cheap but it won't have a good sound to it. I'd go with 2.5" pipe all the way rather than the stock 2.25", the larger pipe gives it a deeper sound. Personally for a V6 i'd go with a turbo muffler, they're cheap at $20-$30, some more expensive and they're really quiet cruising but louder when you get on the throttle. They may not be as loud as you want but they don't make the ricer sound at higher rpm, and trust me with just cats it'll sound bad above 2000rpm or so.

alright. so ill see if i can find some type of cherry bomb turbo.

and so would the inlet be 2.5 and the outlet be 2.5 as well? i would just need to get an adapter and end up cutting out the muffler?

Should be, if you want to use the stock tailpipe you'll need an adapter since it's 2.25", get a 2.5" in/out and that'll fit on there fine. The 04-05 Blazers have 3" into the muffler, at least my friend's 04 does, not sure why they'd choose 3" in and 2.25" out, make more sense to just do 2.5" all the way but what do I know.
