2.5" is what I'd suggest. I'm pretty happy with it on mine.

Well.. do you want to re do all your pipe? or just cat back? if you want to go cat back i would go with 3". thats what i have and i like it, If you up grade the muffler it will make it sound better.
Also i believe stock is 2 1/4".

When I measured my stock pipe it was all 2 1/4" from the cat back.

Not sure why you want to go 3",that extra inch wont help much when your exhaust manifolds are still only like 2". If you go 3" do headers too. and a good y pipe. Your gonna loose a lil bit of low end unless you do it right.

Just buy a big tip, since you're just looking for image don't waste your money on all that pipe.

Ehh i dont know about all that.. after i got 3" pipe ran from the y pipe back, including my high flow cat and 40 series muffler i noticed a little more low end power. I wanted to go with a bigger y pipe but the mechanic said it wont really do anything because the most resistance is in the stock cat and then a little in the muffler. and the Magnaflow cat has very little resistance, along with the flow master.
The 3 inch pipe also offers a little better sound when pared with a 40 series muffler or any muffler IMO. (if youre gunna do bigger pipe you might as well get a better muffler if you dont already have one.)
