throttle blade mod

I have heard of cutting the bottom lip of the throttle blade gives you a decent boost on take off. Has anyone done this??
Watched this video and not sure if I believe this guy lol

Rexmburns did it, as have a few others. Check out his build thread for details.

It won't add any extra power, it just allows air into the throttle body sooner when you push the throttle, making the throttle touchier. Some people like it. Not sure if it's worth it though.

I did it. just a harder take off. Chevy originally didnt have the blade, but added it because they decided the "average everyday driver" doesnt like the hard take off. Who doesnt like Power?? :P

Oh, and its super easy. I used tin snips. much faster and cleaner cut than dremel or saw.

I've done it too, noticeable improvement on take off. Not huge but noticeable and it's free so that's a good mod in my books

Hmmm Ill give it a go today when I get home from work then

I did it just the other day along with using throttle body cleaner and cleaning the MAF sensor (don't worry, I used the right chemicals for that).

Take off is improved. Don't expect to be able to launch off the line, though. I will say that you'll notice the largest difference when you have it floored. I noticed the biggest improvements at 3,000+ RPMs. Once it hits 3k it flies.

Although my gas mileage has dropped with it :(

Looks like I am going to have to give this a shot as well.

Did it yesterday, was surprised how simple it was. used some tin snips and cut it off like it was paper. I have noticed a huge improvement from my take off. Although it still needs some help because my cat is most likely plugged up. Once I get a highflow cat on there and my muffler it should improve more.

Yep, tin snips cut through it like butter!

I was going to do that untill I noticed the throttle plate in my 95 jimmy did not have that metal piece at the bottom. I guess its just on the newer engines.
