Default 01 ZR2 sas help!

I have an 01 ZR2 blazer I want to do a sas on it, the only problem I'm having is what front and rear axles would be best, it's a DD but I want to be able to take it wheeling on weekends, im only looking to clear 33's but I want it to look nice. If anyone can give me ideas for axles or what is the best setup for what I'm using it for it would be greatly appreciated.

a dana 44 from a wrangler is the best but a dana 30 or 40 will work. But if your only doing 33s, why not just do a body lift and trim a little bit?

What year of axle from a wrangler would i be looking for? ive seen guys that have used a 44 and 9" rear end out of a 79 bronco if those would work i can get them. The reason i want to do the sas is because im sick of the IFS in it, i want to put the axle in so when i want to go bigger its easier and cheaper and right now its a DD so i dont want to go to big just yet, anymore advice is appreciated.

Stay away from a dana 30 if u wanna run 33s, they break shafts all the time with em, and its gets worse as u go bigger. Id go dana 44 f/r, or dana 44/dana 60, or even dana 44/ford 8.8. those r ur best bets, but i wouldnt go any lower then a dana 44

I think what I read from "vernos sfa" was an 03'06 wrangler but i could be wrong. but older trucks will work too?? or maybe the full length half ton axles.. *sorry don't know a whole lot about vehicles*

This may help you...
94-04 Chevy S10 solid axle conversion kit (leaf springs)

Are you planning on running coils or leafs?
Dana 44s from a bronco or f150 are set up with coils. F250/350 axles would be dana 60s. Your best choice would prolly be getting getting some dana 44 axles out of a jeep.

only problem with the axles out of a bronco is they are going to be wide. im running 10 bolts front and rear off a k5 blazer and the tires stick out. though if you ran some skinny 33s on maybe stockish rims they might not be that bad, when i have the stock roller tires on my s10 they dont stick out that far.

also if you can find them ive always been told scout axles are the perfect size, also jeep wagoneers.

here is a pic with the stock 7inch wide rims on it

and the 10 wide rims with 33s

axles out of a jeep would work good for 33's, wagoneer axles are getting harder to find, wrangler axles are cheap and plentiful.

Wagoneer front springs are common to use

I myself will be using Wagoneer d44's and rear Dakota springs when I tackle mine this winter. there are a few kits to hang your leaf spring mounts, weld in and even bolt in kits.

Google S10 sas and you will come across TONS of info

edit: because s-series are light and you only plan to run 33's and is a dd/weekend warrior is why I say the dana 30/35 combo will work for you, any bigger i would recommend d44's, 60 rear is overkill for such a light vehicle. If you chose a 6 on 5.5 Axle(waggy) the isuzu rodeo rear diff will work great as it can have disc, low gearing and trac loc

also tony off road direct is weeks away from making a coil setup, i called and asked, and i would guess it'll be about the same price as this, 400-600$, so by end of august they said it'll be about done.

the front 44 out of an early bronco is the best front, high pinion and width is close to waggy 44. waggy 44 is decent choice, just its a low pinion. cant get crazy with lift. best match for bronco front is 8.8 out of an explorer . match lug pattern everyone wants 9" so youll pay more for it, but for 33s its overkill. rodeo 44 will match waggy 44, like someone mentioned, with 6 lug pattern. i just used waggy and rodeo, and took another set of rodeo 4.30 gears w/ trac-lock and put it in my front waggy 44. factory locker front and rear is a nice start.

After all i just went thru, skip the ORD kit. maybe i got the guy who had a bad day welding. ive mentioned in other posts, im not even close to being happy with it ,and my lists grow..haha. Find a person who can weld/ learn to weld, get the sky kit, or make your own.
