3" bumper lift pics for 1997

Hello. Everyone can you help a guy out I finally got the ok from the boss (wife) haha to lift my blazer.I can fab but was looking for some pic's for second Gen blazers with 3" body lifts its a toss up between a 2or 3".And has any one had installation problems. Thanks

There aren't any 3" BL's for a 2nd gen blazer etc, only 2" BL's.
Check out my links at the bottom & see what a 2nd gen blazer with a 3" BL looks like & the gap. The bumpers are at stock height btw. It was installed on the blazer before I bought it 4 years ago.

IMO, stick with the 2" BL and save yourself the hassle. With the amount of frame that shows, I would have preferred to not have done a body lift, but I couldn't argue with the price and the rough country 2.5" wasn't available when I did mine.

Are you ever going to fix that btw?

I'll have to see where/what's easier or best to fabricate someway to lift either the bumper or the bumper mounts at the frame. Eventually I'd like the bumpers up to the body & I'll just move my LED DRL's forward a bit because they're in the gap on the front bumper right now.
Maybe I'll make a bumper for the front... who knows.

Well I thought hard and went with. A pa 2" body lift now I have to decide what tires to run .

Amazing how people forget all the things they've done to their rides. Today I went to Canadian Tire, I think I saw Pipedreams from WORE parked there, had the WORE labels on the DS back window anyway. But as I walked back to the blazer I saw the passive aux engine oil cooler I have mounted between the bumper & body behind the grille guard.
That's the best location for it for air flow etc so I doubt I'll be movin the front bumper. I'll fill in the gaps with some powder coated aluminum checker plate around the outsides though.

rottidog-...ummm..i have a 3in body lift kit that i bought from ebay i got not that long ago lol 99 bucks only too ... the only thing you need to do to make the 3 in body lift work is loner lines for your brake calipers ...lol

Hey monster... I suppose I should have had some info with dates, timelines etc. When I got the blazer in 2009 it already had the BL installed from the previous owner. At that time there were no 3" BL's for 2nd gen blazers. The BL was from a 1st gen & they didn't have bumper brackets that would fit a 2nd gen, hence the space between the bumpers & body. I often get asked why my bumpers are low lol. I tell them the bumpers are at stock height & it's the body that's lifted 3!
Is a '97 a 1st gen or 2nd gen? I thought a 2nd gen started at 1998.

BTW the pic in your sig - that's not with the BL installed I hope, but wth, it has tow hooks lol
