I recently installed this on a 96 blazer. One of the recomendations in the install was moving vacuum actuator on the inside of the frame rail beneath the radiator. I wasnt entirely happy with the way it went in there, just didnt look right. So, after this weekend. The actuator got pierced by something. I put a temp patch on to get back out of the woods. which held fine.
next day i tried locating it a little differently, and this time the actuator got nailed big time. no fixing it.

Id like to see if anyone that installed this lift can show me some pics of how they installed there actuator, and the way the shift cable got run.

Yeah, if you have the $202 that's for sure the way to go. Never have vaccum worries or slow engagement problems. Plus the cable system won't shut off if the engine is turned off or if submerged in water or snow. That's one of the next upgrades on my list.

I also think that with the cable system you get the option of 2low. Which gives you the grunt low end power of 4low, but with bind free steering. (For backing a boat in a dock or a situation where you need torque and tight steering.)

Here's where I installed my Actuator and haven't had any issues. Front passenger side frame rail. This photo is old, but I had the hose extended going to the actuator.

i was able to mount mine in almost the same spot as stock. I just had to move it a few inches. I will try to get a pic of it.

Ive come to the realization, mines not going in there...lol. Its already been smacked twice. Plus seeing nj4x4blaze, something looks different between mine and yours. the small coil pack that sits under the radiator wont let me get it back far enough to where the cable doesnt go in on an angle from the frame.

after reading around, and not having the funds right now for the posi lock, i seen a write up on installing a universal locking cable from napa. same principle, uglier handle, have to be more creative on install.
