91 4door s10 blazer SAS

I'm a little new here but i've been on s10forum.com for awhile and it seems there's a bunch of mini truckers but not a lot of off roaders on there so i'm giving this site a shot :icon_lol: i have a 1991 chevrolet s10 4 door blazer 4x4. it "was" a 4.3 with an auto trans, i since then cut all the IFS off and put 3" lift waggy springs under the front and used skys off road designs cross member kit. the axles are from and 86' grand waggy with 35x12.50x15 BFG all terrains on american racing wheels. I'm also putting a 350 from an 89 silverado in and turns out it was bored .30 over :icon_naughty: here is my collection of pics hope you guys enjoy

before the sas: 2" lift and slight t-bar crank with lift shackles in the rear

We have the same lift , I just finished putting the axles under it today . I still have to hook up the shocks and run the rear brake lines on the axle . You went with a better axle than me though , I decided to go with dana 30s out of a jeep wrangler with 4 inch super flex springs , I already wish I went with the 44s . I'm going to be installing the 35x 14.5 super swamper thornebirds this Thursday , Awesome build by the way . I have my hole build on this sight , I took pictures of everything .

I think I was looking through your build earlier and I liked it, I would of went with a d30 up front but I know I'm going to give it hell off road so I needed an axle that would Definatly take the beating. One thing I'm having issues with is I have people telling me the 4.3 computer will run the 350 as long as I change out the ECM on the distributer, then I have another half telling me just to switch the ECM out for a 350's.. I'm very confused about it

skotti 04-11-2012 07:25 AM

just run the v8 distributor so that wouldnt be an issue. I would guess theyre talking about swapping the v6 prom with the v8 prom inside the pcm. if you have the v8 pcm, just swap it in. if not you would probably need to send the 4.3 prom away to get reflashed to 5.7 prom. This is just stuff i recall reading when i was researching my swap. none of this applied to me, so i didnt read to much into it.
