Hello, i have owned my 95 4 door 4x4 blazer for about 2 years now, and have decided its time to change its look. I am not looking for extreme offroad performance, i rarely go offroad, but want to add as much of a body lift as i can. I want to go for a wide stance via wheel spacing and aftermarket wheels in the front and back without rubbing. I am pretty good with tools, but how involved is a body lift. i cant find any good tutorials or step by step instructions anywhere. any info or advice would be great.

 

A body lift is not very hard at all. Most kits will come with a instruction booklet that will walk you right through it. If you have someone to help you like i did i finished my whole kit in about 6 hours. As long as you read and take your time they are a breeze. Why do you want wheel spacers? Just asking. I had them on our 73 CJ5 and broke 4 wheel studs off because of them. Just food for thought. Im not sure if the 95's have the 3" or not i know my 99 the biggest BL i could get was a 2 inch but it clears the 31's. Good luck and post some pics once you do it.

 

Bberry20, just wondering how large were the wheel spacers you put on that caused you to break 4 wheel studs?

 

i actually did a bit more reasearch on the wheel spacers, and talked to a friend of mine whose a mechanic, and he told me it puts stress on the wheel bearings also, so i decided to just buy a set of soft 8's from summit, which i just purchased. They have a 4 inch backspacing, and im trying to figure out what the biggest size tire i can fit on em are though without the lift. just the rims plus tires are going to be about 600 or 700 bucks so i need to save on the bl. anyone ever heard of kits from jackit.com? they got a 2 inch for like 129 with free shipping

 

by the way is it a problem that i have an auto trans?? im seeing websites saying that their bl wont fit..

 

I would look into either BDS or Performance Accessories for the BL. My BDS BL was a piece of cake. very detailed instructions

 

My body lift was the best money I ever spent... and it was pretty straight forward to install. Most bang for my buck!

 

With the rims you just bought, you'll have to run the stock size tire, but with that backspacing you might have some fender rub at full lock.

Even with a lift and bumping up to 31's you may have to do some trimming (don't go with 31's until you install your lift). I think, bandidolenny has 4" with 31's on 5.5" of backspacing and he had to trim.

I beleive it was a combination of old studs and the 2 inch spacers. When we replaced them they were all pretty weak and rusted.
