body lift or suspension??
 

I wanna lift my 01 2wd blazer and don't know whether I should get a body lift or a suspension lift?

Body lift doesn't change any suspension or drivetrain angles, so it doesn't introduce any extra wear on components. The down side to a body lift is that the only clearance it adds is it allows you to put on slightly bigger tires.

A suspension lift will give you more ground clearance, but will introduce extra stress and wear on suspension, drivetrain, and steering components. Suspension lifts are typically more expensive, especially if you want a bigger lift in the 5-6" range.

You could pretty easily do lift springs or spring spacers for the front with shackles or Add-A-Leaf in the rear and combine that with a 2" body lift which would net you around 4" lift for under $500. That would let you run 31" tires quite easily.

i always vote for body lift, ive installed a 2 inch lift on a s10 before the cv joint angles were not pretty they pretty much started leaking the second we drove it out of the garage. also body lifts are cheaper

also theres the rust risk issue with anything you do. i did a body lift on a k5 blazer years ago and every single bolt broke off in the floor

Depends on the amount of time and money you want to invest and what imagination your fulfilling. Body lift= fairly cheap.. Suspension lift= a little more dough. Both lifts have the good the bad and the ugly. If your reaching for the stars go for both! Suspension lift + Body lift + Bigger tires.

As a new guy, why not lurk a while and see how many have problems with lifting by suspenion versus body raises? Then you can judge for yourself if its worth tthe hassle and wear.

Yes suspension lift will give you more clearance, but your axles will be the same height. The only way to get them higher is bigger tires. Go for both

You mean for your 2wd, right? I haven't been on here in like 2 or 3 weeks and your asking the same questions people have already answered for you. Come on man and lift that thing already. Nut up or shut up.
