Can someone do me a favor?`

Hello, I am going to crank my tbars and ad a shackle lift. I am going to have a local welder build the shackles, just wondering what size they should be for a 2" lift? Is it simply 2" more then the stock shackles or a bit more? I guess the important number is hole to hole everything else I can figure out based on the stock ones. Thanks!

Yes the measurement bolt hole to bolt hole is very important.
For every inch of shackle lenth, you'll obtain a half inch of lift. So if you have him make 4 inch shackles that are 4 inches bolt to bolt, you'll have two inches of lift. Make sure you box in the shackles also. Just having a piece of steel on each side without any bracing to connect them can cause them to bend and warp.

Let me know how it goes or if you need anything else.

ok so I measure up the stock ones, they are 4" already... So I guess I will need a total of 8" to get my 2" lift. After doing some more research I may even make them myself using a bolt in the middle with a small piece of pipe over the both.

Have you looked on ebay? sometimes the ads for shackles on there have the measurements on them

Are you sure you don't already have lift shackles on there already? Most factory shackles arnt 4 inches long I don't think. Longer than 6 inch shackles would make me kinda nervous, plus the leaf spring pack would sit really low in the rear and might look kinda odd.

I'd almost reccomed a add a leaf or a new leaf spring pack if it already has 4 inch shackles. Could you post pictures of the shackles that are on there now?

Yes 4" What you have to remember about shackles is there are several deciding factors on how much lift you get.... is the axle centered on the spring.... what is the current shackle angle? What is the new shackle angle, but yes for the most part the rule of thumb is that you get 1/2 - 2/3 the added length on most vehicles.

top of memory, I think I made mine 8" bolt centers for 2" of lift.... so 4" factory seems dead on to me
