Default does a add a leaf need new u bolts

putting a add a leaf in the rear of my blazer zr2 will i need new u bolts

yes, even if the stock ones are long enough you should still get new ones.

New bolts came with my rough country add a leaf kit.

cory, you never reuse u bolts.

i did get new u bolts made and even if u could reuse the u bolts i bent the driver side getting them off and had to cut off the pasenger side they were so seized on

pretty much that... most the time you CANT reuse them even if you wanted to. the threads rip off of them or they break taking them off. i was always told because they stretch over time.

ive tried to reuse some on a old k5 just to move it outside of the shop cause i was at work and just tightening them down the threads ripped off of them but if its ubolt that have been on the truck like a week or so ill re use them

I can understand obviously if it breaks, or threads get damaged, but he said you never re-use them.

i have reused u bolts no problem, for some reason people get all weired out about some stuff and u bolts are one of those things. i believe that if the bolts are soaked well and i clean the exposed threads as best i can
then removal is usually easy, but most people just hit them with a air
gun and do damage, not knowing until they snap or strip on reinstallation
just use good judgement, they are pretty cheap to replace, if planned on before the project starts...

i took mine off 3X and put them back on, i only use hand tools, sucks alot but had no problems with them, just use some WD-40 and alot of love
