Easy inexpensive lift?
So ive decided i want to use my tax return to add to my ride height. I have a 2002 chevy blazer ls 4-door...REAR WHEEL DRIVE :( whats the best way to lift 3" or so? I imagine larger tires will add lift also. im thinking shackles and lift blocks in the back and larger springs for the front(if thats how u do it...). I have 15" rims so what tire(brand and model) do you guys reccomend? Im worried about the roll over risk. Ive done some mild off roading(because its rwd) so this really is just for looks. Id like to try and keep in under $600 if possible. please give me some ideas

Blocks in the rear would just lower you. But the shackles and longer coils could easily get you more lift. I believe being 2wd it is probably cheaper too try shopping around online a little but a body lift is also an option. With a 4wd and 2 inches of lift you can fit 31" tires of your choice

cool thanks alot! and thanks for not jumping at me with the "this has been asked 1000x"!

I used to see 4-6 inch lift kits on ebay all the time for 2wd, used to be around 600 dollars. But I just checked and none of them are there, I'd say keep checking on ebay.

What size tire should i use? Im thinking 30" but what width will be safe?

well to give you an idea on tires mine are a 30/9.5/r15 with about an inch of lift in the front and 2 in the rear and i really like it.

Depending on the amount of lift you do 30x9.5's or 31x10.5 both would work out pretty well I think

For lifting the rear , take the rearend out and put it under the springs , and for the front I think they make lift spindles , I think there made by fabtech
1983-03 GM S10 / S15 3.5" Spindle Lift There you go that should work , good luck man Hope this helps . |
Would a 2.5 in spring spacer and 2 in shackles let me fit 31s on 2wd 01 blazer?

I don't think those spindles work with dual piston front calipers. I remember reading on s10forum.com that they don't. The only way would be to swap in the single piston truck calipers or a set from a blazer before they switched to the dual piston calipers. now, if you do an axle flip, and get the spindles and a set of coil springs your looking at 6 inches up front, and like 5 in the rear. That'd be pretty sweet. Makes me wish I'd have bought a 2wd. Any one wanna trade? I can only do even up, though... 93... 4x4... No one? No surprise...
