leaf springs

So I built a bastard pack today for my 96 blazer. My bottom leaf was snapped in half on one side so I took that out and the second smallest leaf out of each pack added a longer leaf under the main on both side and added a 3 time thicker leaf on the bottom to replace the broken one. Took it for a drive but when I hit a dip in the road the whole back end lifted off the ground and it bounced twice wheels and everything came off he ground is this because the suspension is too stiff?

I'll upload a pic tomorrow but I think I put to thick of a leaf on the bottom because the back has really no bounce to it when jumping up and down on the bumper so I'm guessing that's why when I hit a dip in the road my whole back end jumps at least a foot off the ground lol.
