To lift or not to Lift.
 

So, i am thinking of installing a 2.5" body lift to my 2000 blazer.

I am wondering though... from Stock, what size tires would a 2.5" lift allow me to mount?

I believe i have 30's on it now...

And i am wondering if it is even worth it or not.
As i do like the subtle stock look of things.

Plus the vehicle has 300,000kms (192k miles?)

so i am trying to avoid the Torsion bars.

But whta you guys suggest will be seriously considered :3

I mostly need Ground CLearance because i like to explore

I wouldn't do a body lift. If you have 30" tires now, and you can fit 31" tires with the body lift, you are gaining only ½" of clearance. Worth the effort? With a 2½" suspension lift and the same tire size increase, you have gained 3" of clearance. 2¢

Now that i think about it... I am probably wrong about the tire size...
I havent driven the vehicle in 7 months and its parked at my parents. an hour away. hmmmm :/

Dont listen to Whitey , he lowers trucks! I have 220,000 and did a body and suspension lift. Pretty sure i can 32s no problem. Body lift makes it easier to work on stuff underneath also

The tires look like about 27-28" at a guess.

My 2 cents: A body lift gains you zero ground clearance. It only gains you tire clearance. Larger tires gain you 1/2" ground clearance for every 1" taller tire. Personally I don't see much value in only doing the body lift to fit bigger tires.

If you want to lift your truck (and understand the effects this will have) then start with a suspension lift (RC 2.5" lift or even just a reasonable 1.5" t-bar crank and shackles) and see if you can fit your desired tire size. Most people can fit 31's with this setup, and you can add the body lift to that if you're having problems with rubbing on the fenders.
