Default Rip Off??!!??

I went to a shop today to get a price on a 2'' body lift with install. They said $299 for a PA lift and wanted $800 for the install!!! Is this a rip off or about right?? How hard are they to install????

I would do it yourself thats rediculous!! Buy the lift yourself spend a bunch of time reading the instructions and otheres posts on here and then grab a buddy or two and do it yourself for the cost of beer for your buddies! They aren't hard to do they just take a while to complete is all.

And make sure you hit the body bolts with a penetrating oil like PB blaster or WD40 several times over a couple of days before you do the install. It will make things go much easier. OldSkoolSoldier posted a video of his install on youtube. Just search the link. I did mine with my brother helping, and it took us about 10 hours with no power tools and tripple checking everything.

Unless you are having clearance issues with your current tires, or are planning bigger tires, a body lift is wasting your time and money. $.02

I guess whether or not its worth it is up to you! I don't have any rub issues but I have my lift sitting in my living room waiting till the wife recovers from her surgery thats happening on Friday. Its all about if you like the look I suppose. I want to run 32's possibly 33's (with lots of additional work) when I put new tires on is the main reason for mine.
