Rough country 2.5 on awd '97 Bravada
 
Anybody here know what I have to do differently on an AWD Bravada as opposed to the 4wd Jimmy/Blazer when installing a RC 2.5 suspension lift? The front diff is obviously very different, is just different trimming on the case? No trimming? Need to know from someone who's done it and pictures would really help...

Fairly certain the diff case is actually identical, it's the passenger side output shaft side is what is really different on the Bravada's AWD system compared to the standard selectable 4x4 system. The Bravada has a solid shaft running through the tube while a regular 4x4 has the disconnect system build into that tube. Actually a common upgrade to the regular 4x4 is to get that tube and solid shaft from a Bravada and install it into a regular 4x4 and do away with the vacuum/cable actuated disconnect for a more reliable 4x4 system; I have one in the garage waiting to be installed myself, just been to lazy to mess with it and my selectable 4x4 system is still working fine lol

That being said, I can't image there being any issues at all installing it (it will require the usual case trimming has the standard 4x4). Aside from that tube, the transfercase is really the only other thing that differs and you wont' be messing with that with the RC lift.

Thanks a bunch, blazen. I think that about settles it then. The RC 2.5 and some DCs or Swampers are in my near future

I did not know this and will be looking for them more often now.
