i know very little bout new school d44s. there are several version. rubicon 44s, use same outers as d30 which is there weak spot. there is another version. which is supposed to have a stronger pinion section then all 44s. they have larger brakes. probably force you to a larger rim size. think theyre are 5x5.5. so probably be a better fit getting ford 8.8 with 5x4.5 and getting adapters to match one or the other bolt pattern.

too many variables to figure which is more cost effective.

Okay, might hold off on the dana60 then. I don't want my entire tire showing lol. I'll look around and see which dana44 is available in good condition around here. Personally I like the look of the long arm kit better but it looks like it might be more trouble. I would go either way on the sas depending on what is available in my area. I'll start checking Craigslist and the yards more frequently to see what's available.

this is what a full width dana 44 looks like *i also have a 14in wide tire, no sure on bs on wheels though
