thats a good idea ill try that next time. my normal method that i do at work, i usually do these on the drive on lift, but ill cut the bolts if they wont come out, ratchet strap the leaf spring down as low as i can get it onto the lift, set the bushing on fire then air hammer the rubber and center sleave out of the leaf spring, then using a flat blade on the air hammer to smack out the outter sleeve. it only takes like 5-10 minutes to do all that but thats of course at a shop with a lift and every tool you can think of

i ended up saw alling the bolts off then using a method found here on this site, using a drill bit and drilling out the rubber from the bushing, then removing the old bushing and replacing the bolt and nut, its a PITA, but i sure do like the new urethane bushings, i also coated every thing well in grease, so the problem wont happen again..

Now that I own one that's the only way to do it. Not everybody is as well stocked with tools. When their DD/only ride is tore down sitting in the yard at a stuck point suggesting a tool they don't have and can't go get is like pouring salt in an open wound.
