Shocks & 31's w/o trimming
Okay, so I eventually want to get 31's on the stock wheels that I have. But, I need new shocks now. I've got two questions:
What's the cheapest and easiest way to achieve fitting 31's w/o fender trimming a 3" body lift? What shocks can I install now that will complement the lift later? Thanks! |
They don't make a 3" body lift for the Blazer in your sig. If you only do a body lift then you'll need oem replacement shocks, nothing special.
They make a 2" body lift that once you put on crank the tbars up so its level. And you should clear them fine. Atleast I did.
Cool deal. So is there such a thing as a shock that gives any noteworthy lift?
No shocks only comfort the ride on the blazers you get lift from cranking the torsion bars (tbars) and putting shackles on the rear leaf springs.
Yeah, I was thinking about something like lLoadhandlers in the rear, but now leaning towards the Monroe Monotube on all four corners.
Yea idk anything about shocks i just went with the rc 2.5" suspension lift
Also remember doing the body lift doesnt effect the suspension all it does is lift the body off the frame for extra tire clearance.

Well, after a lot of price checking I decided on the Reflex Momomax from shockwarehouse, however, they never answered their phone nor returned my call. So, out of curiosity I priced the same shocks at O'Reilly's and found them to be within just a couple bucks... Not a huge O'Reilly's fan but, I don't have to wait and can begin work tonight. Looking forward to losing the boat effect when driving!
Edit: Correction- O'Reilly's ordered the wrong dang parts, so I went back to shockwarehouse and the gentleman recommended the KYB Monomax so I went with them. Back to waiting... |
ok at least you're going to have a smoother ride. Also installing them is fairly easy especially if you have someone helping you.
