tire size with new lift?
 

I just broke down and bought a new Rough Country 2.5 inch lift and performance accessories2 inch body lift. My wheels im looking at are either 16s or 17s. My original tire size is 215/75/15. What size should i get. I dont want them to rub and I don't want to have to do any trimming.

With my 245/75-16's (30.5"-31"), I rub even with a LOT of trimming (2" back from the tire). I have a 3" body lift, no suspension lift. With an additional 2" lift, I wouldn't see any rubbing at all.

I know that doesn't help much with your truck, but should give a general idea. 30's to 31's should be the sweet spot.

I'd look for something in the 30-31" range. I'd say the first thing you need to do is nail down what rims you're going to use and go from there. The lower backspacing you get on your rims, and if you get rims that are wider than 7" will all affect what tires you can run without rubbing.

I was looking into getting some 16's maybe 17's but Im not sure what backspacing to get. I know the wheels I have now stick out a little now and that width is alright but Id like a wider stance since the center of gravity is gonna be a little higher. Ive heard that the rough country lift control arms sometimes hit the wheels. I want to buy the wheels and tires online but I have no idea how to measure the offset. Any ideas on what rim size to go for? Im definitely going with BFG AT KO's again more than likely.

If you don't want to rub or trim anything you probably want to stick in the 5-6" backspacing range unless you go with a 30" tire height.
