Torsion bar adjuster bolt

I got rough country's 2.5" lift the other day, and am going to install this weekend. The torsion adjuster bolt that's in right now is broken so there's no head on it to tighten/loosen, so I'll just drill it out I guess once there's no load on the bolt. My question is, is it just a normal bolt that I can replace after, or no? I checked a parts store and they don't sell that bolt, so I figure it's just a normal bolt?
Has anyone else had this problem or know anything about it?

i believe (someone correct me if im wrong) but that bolt is part of the key. not the key itself but it bolts to this big washer thing that when you take the tension off the torsion bars it comes out.

you will still have to drill it or replace it anyways but its going to be way easier doing it on a bench then under the truck

I believe that it is a hardened bolt (metric 10.9 or grade 8). I am not sure if the s-series ones are rounded on the end or not, but the I seem to remember the one on my Tahoe being rounded so as not to roll the threads over on the tip which would hinder removal later on down the road.

Regardless, it just threads through the chunk of metal that rests in the cross-member. It could be fun to get that chunk out with the bolt still in there, but you should be able to just thread it out once the tension is off of it. I would recommend using a bolt/nut extractor like THIS ONE.

Replacements may be fun to find as full thread bolts aren't very common.

I think it is a special bolt. The end is rounded so that it can turn in the key without messing anything up. It threads into a block that rests in 2 slots in the cross member. It is impossible to get the block out with the bolt still in it.

I do have 2 bolt and 2 blocks if you need new ones. I will sell them to you for a few bucks plus shipping. Send me a PM if you want them
