trimming the front bumper cover - GMC 2nd-gen

I've found several pictures of S-10s with the airdam/front valance trimmed for obstacle clearance (not just tire clearance - I don't have an issue there). I want to do this, but I dont' want it looking overly backwoods. I've already tried to climb a rock that rubbed the bottom of the bumper cover pretty hard.

I couldn't find any that were done in the gallery, but I am sure they exist (I didn't look through them all because there are SO MANY).

Tell me how you did yours or what you would do. My sawzall, cutoff tool, and dremel are waiting.....

I've looked through more than 100 pages in the gallery and haven't found a GMC Jimmy like mine (2000) with the full plastic bumper cover/air dam that has trimmed it up for obstacle clearance.

So I got my cutoff tool out and plugged in the air compressor, grabbed a sharpie and began.

More trimming tonight and there will be more after I fab my recovery anchors. There is a boulder in my yard (dragged it up from the edge of our property) that when I tried to climb it before the bumper cover rubbed it real bad. I might finish my sway bar disconnect tonight and give that thing another try..... Pics will follow.

I should get more work on it done this weekend between rain showers. We're finally going to get a soaking rain so I can get some work done in the garage (needs cleaned up so I can use the drill press without covering stuff that shouldn't be with metal shavings).

Like the disconnects. I will try something like that on my ride as soon as I get it running right again. Nice job!
