ZR-2 Suspension

Hey guys, I've got a 96' GMC Jimmy 4 door 4WD. I'm looking to lift it a little more than it is currently. It's got a t-bar crank up front and a 3in shackle at the rear. Is it possible to put the suspension from an S-10 or Blazer Zr-2 on it? What are the differences between the regular suspension vs. the ZR-2?
Thanks

It is possible. It's going to be a hell of a lot more expensive and involved then just throwing a simple 2" body lift on it though. It will give you the same amount of lift as a ZR2 suspension for $150-$200, and it can be done in a day.

The ZR2 got its lift from mounting the suspension lower on the frame rails.

^ding ding ding^ we gave a winner!!! Neo is correct. Part the reason why you can not use a lift kit for a ZR2 on a non ZR2 blazer/s10

Alright, what about the front end? Is there a way to use the ZR-2 suspension up there to lift it up?

Absolutly not. Just about all of the suspension components are diffrent.

I'm pretty sure you can swap the torsion bars out. I know the rear springs are compatible.

that was in reference to the front suspension. the ZR's have reversed eyes on the mains.

if you already have 3" shackles with the t-bar crank, you can either add the 2" BL like Sisk said, or play with the big dogs, and get yourself a 5 or 6 inch SL. 'cause right now, you're almost max'd out.

I'd say just go with the body lift

Alright, thanks guys. I'm still thinking about replacing the t-bars, they've got just under 200,000 miles on 'em and are probably on the weaker side. I don't know how the leaf springs are supposed to sit, but with the shackle, they are almost straight.
