01 LS instrument panel help

hey guys I'm going to get my new to me blazer tomorrow from my brother in law. Well he was goin to install a kenwood radio and when he got it al in the instrument panel lights won't light up, so he took the radio back out and put the stock one back in it and still no lights. Any suggestions? I'm hoping it's just the fuse blew or something easy. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

bump for some help please, its dark at night and scary in the cab :icon_no:. I've checked all fuses, could it be a bad ground wire?

he probably crossed the 'illumination' or 'dimmer' wire and blew a fuse is my guess.. did you check the fuses in the dash as well as under the hood?

or did he turn the dimmer knob down all the way when removing the dash cover? beside the headlight switch there is a turn dial, turn it up all the way and see if they come on(when you feel the 'click' that means they should stay on, you want to keep it just before it 'clicks'

also make sure he plugged it back in!!

All fuses were good, the backlight isnt working thats all, all my gauges still work, just cannot see them at night. If i turn my dimmer all the way up then my dome light comes on. Any other suggestions?
