Question 1986 S-10 AM/FM/Cassette Radio-Original

Believe it or not I still have the original radion in my 86 S-10 Blazer (Tahoe). The cassette doesn't work (duh!), and now the radio volume turns up & down by itself. I am not a car audio expert , so would like a recommendation on what to get to replace the original. I've looked at Best Buy and a couple of other places, but so far everything I've seen won't fit well. I know there are adapters to solve the problem. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you.

If you do not mind buying used you could get a pioneer DEH P47 or DEH P77 which were made for 1.5 DIN vehicals. I have the DEH P77 which has pre-outs for external amp. If you just want a plug and play unit the DEH 47 will fit perfectly and get a harness connector kit and you do not have to cut any of the vehicals wires. Just wire the harness to the head unit and it is plug and play and fits the factory opeing without any fill plates. See the link below for an ebay listing.

yeah i second the getting a harness kit. dont splice your wires, for some reason the older s10s had issues if you cut wires back there that your dash lights wouldnt work. something about the dome/dash lights run through the radio. something to do with the dimmer switch

Thanks. I don't really care about the OE look. Would just like to get a radio that doesn't adjust its own volume. My mechanic buddy told me to scrap it and get a new one.
